I graduated from Iowa State University with a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering inDecember 2018. I used my time at Iowa State to expand and deepen my knowledge of chemicalengineering fundamentals, as well as to challenge myself to perform consistently at higher levels.I am very passionate about renewable energy, sustainability and in preserving the environment. At IowaState, I took elective classes in electrochemistry, bio-renewables, and organic chemistry which I believeare the foundations for building a renewable and sustainable future. I have utilized this knowledge as aresearch assistant to design, prototype and test a direct liquid fuel cell for energy production.I worked for Siemens as part of the Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education, where I built a model of their power to gas technology to convert electricity into hydrogen. As an intern at a start-up bio-fuel company, I worked with light filters tin order to improve the production of algae for use as a bio-fuel. Throughout my work and studies, I have worked on teams comprised of international students and enjoy learning about them and their culture.Outside of work and the classroom, I am a triathlete and have competed in many states and at AgeGroup Nationals. I love to travel and have visited thirteen countries. I also enjoy taking the time to pickup trash from parks and woodlands to clean up my small corner of the world.
