I am a freelance editor specializing in media press junkets, behind-the-scenes, and documentary-style content in 16:9 and vertical formats for social media platforms. ----------------------------------------In June of 2015, after graduating from The University of Texas with a Bachelors degree in Film and Television Production, I moved across the country to Los Angeles. After interning for Stacey Sher (producer of Pulp Fiction, Erin Brockovich, Django Unchained), I landed a part-time job as an administrative assistant with RocketJump Studios. With the cost of living, I had to juggle two other jobs - a caterer for Universal Studios and a doorman at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. After months of hard work and perseverance, I was able to advance to Creative Producer/Editor for RocketJump's behind-the-scenes content. The position allowed me to travel around Southern California with the cast and crew of countless RocketJump productions to film the making of each project, including their Hulu Original Series, "Dimension 404." This job taught me how to craft a narrative on-the-spot.Eventually, I pivoted to an assistant editor role at Yahoo! Studios. I worked the night shift on their topical, fast turnaround series, "Superfan TV." This job taught me the importance of organization and efficient workflows for time-sensitive projects. Then, I became an editor at REACT Media where I focused on behind-the-scenes content for their audience of over 10 million people. I learned the quick wit editing style needed for vlog style content. Simultaneously, I edited "game show" style videos that garnered millions of views. After providing helpful feedback on how to improve our content, I was promoted to a Creative Producer/Editor role at the company - a challenging, but fun opportunity. I learned the value of audience engagement and the importance of catching the viewer's attention within seconds of starting the video. Now, I am a video editor at IMDb where I create engaging, bitesize interview pieces with A-list celebrities. If there are talks of a rising star or a trending title, I'll edit a quick video teaching our audience "all about" the subject. I edit silly, but often viral clips for IMDb's Instagram and TikTok - many of which hit millions of views. I also occasionally travel to events (Sundance, Oscars, Golden Globes, Comic-Con) to edit mashups and assist wherever needed.
