During my time at Mitchells & Butlers I have furthered developed my skills in customer service, oral communication and team work. Working part-time during the completion of my masters required a high level of organisational skills and effective time management to ensure both my work and my studies were conducted to a high level, which they were as my final grade of distinction attests to. Lastly, the role has given me the opportunity to further enhance my attention to detail, ensuring that the bar remains at it's most appealing at all times and that it is up to standards in regards to both stock and cleanliness.

For 11 months I worked full-time as a bar attendant at the Cleveland Sands Hotel in Cleveland, Australia. It was the most popular venue in Cleveland, and the bar always extremely busy. As a result, I further developed my ability to work efficiently and comfortably under pressure, while still providing a high standard of service. During my time at The Sands my organisational and leadership skills were recognised and I was promoted to Bar Team Leader. This came with increased responsibilities, including receiving deliveries, organising stock and ensuring that the bar was fully prepared for busy services. Furthermore, my time at The Sands has left me well prepared to effectively carry out any role that involves interactions with customers and clients.

For 9 months I worked full-time as a bartender and waiter at Quench Bar and Street Kitchen in Burgess Hill. I enjoyed the team-working and understood the importance of my communication and people skills, which I further enhanced during this experience. In addition, my time at Quench enabled the development of my customer service and oral communication skills. One of my major responsibilities was stock rotation. This helped me further develop my organisational skills, as well as reinforcing for the importance of efficiency and organisation in the workplace.
