Researcher at the Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry group under PI Prof. Per Hansson. In this position I have been responsible for the set-up and development of their microfluidic capabilities. I have in particular procured all the needed equipment, chemicals and consumables required to operate pressure-driven microfluidic equipment for the production of droplet-based microgels. Here I have developed all the protocols needed for the continuous use of their microfluidic tools for future projects. I have in particular developed an microfluidic array system for the evaluation of the effects of APIs on microgels investigated as potential drug carriers. Given challenges with the use of PDMS for poorly-soluble drugs, development of a glass-silicon-glass dry etched chip was achieved successfully.
