Emergency Physician and Assistant Department Chief of Emergency Medicine at Womack Army Medical Center, the busiest Emergency Department in the Department of Defense. I manage 147 Physicians, Nurses and support personnel, as well as a $7M operations budget. Located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Served as Director of Medical Affairs, then after June 2012 as Vice President Medical Affairs and COO.Entegrion coordinated over $30 million of research and development for DoD sponsored programs, including preclinical, Phase I and II IND studies performed on behalf of the Department of Defense. Products under development included spray-dried human plasma, lyophilized (dried) humans and animal platelets, and a portable point of care blood coagulation monitor. I participated in program and manufacturing development, clinical trial design, FDA filings, stakeholder and shareholder relations, and grant administration. I developed and implemented corporate strategy, commercialization and growth plans, as well as market development initiatives, all in close coordination with our DoD sponsors and shareholders.

I provide emergency medicine services as an attending physician in George Washington University affiliated Emergency Departments in the Washington DC area. I also participate in the OnSite Medical Access program, providing personalized acute care services offsite in office, hotels, or residences.

I assist in the training, fielding and forward supervision of federal medical response teams in support of Federal Disaster Response efforts. We have approximately 7000 healthcare providers and support systems in over 70 team nationwide. I am the project lead for developing and supporting rapidly responding small surgical teams capable of operating in austere conditions with minimal support. I also assist with program, policy, and doctrine development for the Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Operational Medical Support (CONTOMS) program, as part of the HHS Center for Tactical Medicine.

I was responsible for supervising all aspects of health care delivery at the busiest emergency department in the Department of Defense. I was the first or second level supervisor for over 43 Physicians and Physician Assistants, 41 Paramedics, and 27 ER Medics. While working clinical shifts, I directly supervised a combined staff of 28 providers, nurses and support personnel. Our ED provided over 72,000 patient visits annually, and I managed a budget of almost $9 million. I served on 5 critical hospital committees, and was the only physician trained in Lean Six Sigma techniques in hospital. I was the project leader in transitioning our entire healthcare operation to utilize Microsoft SharePoint technologies, and successfully expanded our Graduate Medical Education programs to include Emergency Medicine, OB-GYN, and Family Practice residency rotations. I helped open a $2 Million, 7-bed expansion of our critical care capability in December 2009.
