I managed the website overnights and later on the swing shift, making sure all stories from the print edition receive prominent placement on the homepage and/or section pages. I used news judgment sensibilities to determine the stories I thought would be of most interest to our readers, and then arranged the homepage and subpages accordingly. I designed pages intended to be visually pleasing, adding multimedia, graphic, and photographic elements to stories and homepage/section pages when warranted. I monitored the wires, making sure all breaking news was reflected on our homepage. I wrote and adjusted headlines for stories, keeping SEO principles in mind for both short heads and longer, SEO-friendly headlines. I communicated regularly with members of the copy desk staffs for print sections (news and sports, primarily) about any changes that may be made to stories during the editing process. And on occasion I dealt with HTML/XML code to repair or create an element on the site.Before serving as the overnight producer at BostonGlobe.com (July 2013 to November 2018), I was a part-time producer for a year at Boston.com.
