While returning to school full time to finish my undergraduate degree, I took on two challenges for the AutoFair organization. Both speak to my ability to rapidly understand not just the expectations of management but the intricacies of the position. In the first position at the height of the volatile post Covid market, I enhanced the groups Inventory Analytics to drive the vehicle acquisition strategies. The first significant milestone of this position was successfully automating the data pipelines via python scripts freeing up resources allowing the dealership to invest more time procuring needed inventory. Upon the success of this milestone, I was tasked with automating the download of all new inventory from the OEM website. Prior to this project, the dealerships ETL process involved manually copying and pasting the data from a multitude of webpages, and they only did this once a week. Upon successfully building the data pipeline, I developed and maintained the dealerships new car inventory tracking models and integrated them into our used car inventory models to develop both buying and pricing strategies. One of the benefits to the dealership of this specific work was it provided the most up to date information during the day giving all employees an edge when helping secure available inventory in an sellers market. The second challenge I took on for AutoFair was to rebuild one of their BDC departments. Upon arrival, the department had an average internet lead closing rate of 10% and was ranked in the bottom ten of over 100 AMSI (Parent Company) dealerships. In six months, the department had raised the the average closing rate by 40% and was ranked in the top 10 of AMSI internet departments. Many efforts lead to this success such as collaboration with other BDC Managers and the introduction of our vehicle video responses to leads.
