• Respond to and independently investigate general liability/property damage/auto/personal injury claims, including high-exposure and catastrophic claims.
• Provide meaningful insight to County of Los Angeles risk managers and attorneys at roundtables, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials.
• Review and negotiate bodily injury and property damage settlements with claimants and personal injury attorneys, including detailed reviews of claimants’ medical records, to ensure appropriate adjustments are being made.
• Enter claim information into the county’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS). Upon obtaining signed releases, issue payments for property damage and personal injury.
• Request and reconcile financial payments to various vendors and support services.

• My services are retained by private individuals. Upon execution of an Appointment of Representative form, I communicate and negotiate with insurance providers acting as a proxy on the client’s behalf during the course.
• Independently investigate accidents and review insurance company investigations ensuring client’s interests are being properly served; advise culturally diverse client base on how to present themselves during interviews.
• Accompany clients to small claims court and coach them in representing themselves.
• Review and negotiate bodily injury settlements with insurance companies to ensure appropriate payments are being made or denied; conduct line item reviews of claimant property damage estimates to ensure only damages.
• Negotiate comparative negligence with insurance companies.

• Exclusive handling of several complex, high exposure claims each day from initial report through resolution.Key Duties:
• Consistently deliver accurate, timely, and complete accident investigations meeting management and Department of Insurance deadlines.
• Investigate the most complex claims in the company: high-exposure losses, coverage issues, thefts, fraud investigations, and fatalities.
• Evaluate severe bodily injury claims and negotiate fair and equitable settlements.
• Defend insureds whenever they are summoned to appear in court actions, mediations, MSCs, and settlement conferences.
• Write property damage estimates using CCC Pathways and Mitchell estimating systems and issue checks for numerous damaged vehicles and properties daily.

• Research, retrieve, and interpret case law for attorneys.Key Duties:
• Analyze and edit lawyers’ motions and briefs.
• Read and analyze transcripts.
• Serve subpoenas.
• Meet with prospective clients to provide information and address any considerations prior to their signing contracts to retain the firm.
