Initiated continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and eliminate non-value-adding activities. Validated and resolved warehouse and client issues through system studies and root cause analysis techniques.Milestones:1) Created an inbound call time system for truck fleet deliveries considering SKU category, complexity, and volume in order to reduce demurrage fees amounting Php 300,000 monthly. Demurrage fees were eliminated completely, and issues regarding unloading and dwell time KPIs were also resolved.2) Increased the pallet height for specific SKUs from 1.3m to 1.6m in order to increase the amount of cases handled per pallet. This resulted in an 18% decrease in handling requirements. Moreover, rack beam heights were adjusted from 8 levels of 1.3m to 7 levels of 1.6m, increasing rack space utilization by 6% while maintaining safe levels of clearance.3) Updated the Task Manager strategy to optimize the stowing and retrieval of each SKU in the warehouse, taking into account factors such as product turnover rate, height, weight, category, temperature tolerance, workload distribution, and proximity to inbound/outbound areas. Following implementation, overall handling was reduced by 15%, as verified by radio data terminal logs.
