Providing statistical and analytical support on several projects, including cost–benefit analyses, economic research, and data analysis and interpretation.For the Census Bureau, I provide process development and technical assistance to several statistical research projects at the Center for Economic Studies.For the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), I provide ongoing support to the Office of Security Policy and Industry Engagement’s Economic Analysis Branch in assessing the costs and benefits of rulemakings that TSA undertakes pursuant to legislation. Specific contributions:• Conducted data analysis for two proposed transportation security regulations. Collected, cleaned, and analyzed data from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) databases using SAS and SQL.• Supported the drafting of regulatory impact analyses (RIAs) for several rulemakings. Responsible for economic and policy content, and responses to policy and legal directives from TSA, DHS, and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Wrote RIA literature reviews and summaries.• Conducted a quality assurance review of a spreadsheet model of costs and risk-adjusted benefits of a proposed rule.• Conducted research on appropriate methodologies and data for estimation of transportation asset loss-of-use cost impacts.• Reviewed public comments to a rulemaking for air traveler screening, and identified, collected, and cataloged comments relevant to a pending lawsuit.For the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) I conducted economic analyses for several petitions for rulemaking. These have required accessing, evaluating, interpreting, and analyzing data from various government and private sources. I also have reviewed, updated, and edited RIAs for several regulations proposed by PHMSA, addressing questions and suggestions from public comments and Federal regulatory staff, and enforcing standards for economic analysis and professional communication.

Conducted legislative and regulatory research on multiple financial regulatory policy issues important to the financial security of Americans. Specific accomplishments:• Interpreted and analyzed bank capital requirements and investment adviser fiduciary duty rules to determine the effect of current policies and predict the likely impact of proposed rules.• Evaluated information sources for accuracy, relevance, authoritativeness, completeness, and usefulness.• Summarized and interpreted research findings, conclusions and policy recommendations from subject area experts, in briefing reports and research papers for our lobbyist and other staff.• Supported related lobbying efforts by engaging with Congressional staff and collaborating advocacy organizations through written reports, formal letters, email, and telephone calls.• Collected, organized and summarized quantitative and qualitative data on capital constraints facing small businesses, and the likely impact of pending legislation on small business development and investor risk.• Interpreted, analyzed and summarized current and proposed regulations addressing enhanced prudential standards for GE Capital Corporation, corruption in municipal securities markets, executive compensation disclosure, and the separation of commercial and investment banking.
