As part of the San Francisco office of HKS, I split my time as a Job Captain among the Hospitality, Residential, and Education sectors, working alongside Project Managers to produce highly coordinated and thoroughly detailed documents. In addition to working with senior staff I also mentored junior staff in the areas of life safety, code analysis, and exterior skin systems. I served as the office's liason to the firm's Practice Technology group, where I helped to identify and establish best practices for using Revit as a design/documentation tool while also troubleshooting problems that arose over the course of a project.

At Studio G Architects, Inc. my work focused on interior tenant improvements for high tech companies and market ready renovations to commercial properties in the Silicon Valley. As a job captain, my responsibilities included writing proposals for potential projects, producing space plans and hypothetical layouts, creating material palettes for client approval, issuing drawings for permit, and reviewing shop drawings and submittals during construction.

During my time in New York City, I worked for the offices of Nobutaka Ashihara Architect, a firm specializing in the design of hotels. Acting as job captain on several projects, including a multi-family residential conversion, a 200 key hotel renovation, interiors for a hotel and medical office building, and a community park, I gained expertise in the areas of project scheduling, finish specifications, and client relations. I was also involved in the firm's participation in an international design competition for a residential tower in Lima, Peru.

After completing my undergraduate studies at USC, I returned to Cannon Design as a full-time employee and joined the Sports & Recreation studio. I assisted in producing design and construction documents for two collegiate recreation facilities and gained experience in programming, engineering systems coordination, and preparing documentation for LEED certification. I set up a monthly e-newsletter informing employees of architecture and design related events occurring in the greater Los Angeles area and I initiated an office-wide recycling program for bottles and cans.
