Designed and managed the Milton Lytle Diaries Project, which spotlights the personal writings of an early Penn State University student who later fought in the Union army during the American Civil War. In this role, I am currently developing a new website to host the diary and its transcription, as well as a variety of supplementary materials. Hosted by the Richards Civil War Era Center at the Pennsylvania State University, the website for the Lytle Diaries Project will go live later this year.

• Designed and taught five semester-long, introductory-level undergraduate history courses [Introduction to the Civil War Era, 1848-1877 (four sections); History of the American Worker (one section)]. • Administered two online sections of the introductory-level history survey course, American Civilization since 1877, through Penn State’s World Campus.• Recipient of a Teaching Innovation Project Award from Penn State’s College of the Liberal Arts in 2015. The TIP Award provides institutional support for classroom projects that make innovative use of technology; it was awarded in 2015 to support a project entitled “Hard Work in Happy Valley,” which required students to create short podcasts and documentaries chronicling the lives of central Pennsylvania’s working people.
