Current- Handled client onboarding by registering new patients into the electronic medical records system, obtaining demographic and insurance information, calling the patient's primary clinic to request relevant studies, pathologies, and labs, uploading a copy of insurance and identification cards, and requesting referrals and authorizations.- Collected co-insurance, copayments, and pending out of pocket balances by verifying monthly how much a patient’s insurance requires him to pay for a specialist office visit and chemotherapy treatment, including diagnostic labs, phlebotomies, injections and bone marrow biopsies.- Made sure medicine supply is in stock as well as confirmed authorizations and referrals were up to date for each one. - Managed scheduling by arranging new and returning appointments in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines, identifying and following up with ‘no shows’, canceling and rescheduling according to physician schedule change or patient inability to attend, and set up outpatient testing appointments and hospital admissions upon request, obtaining necessary pre-certification, as required.- Oversaw the front desk by greeting patients and visitors into the office, scheduling appointments and tests, and answering and directing incoming calls, serving as a liaison between patient and medical staff.
