General responsibilities include handling problem reports and change requests for the Target System Software (TSS) in coordination with the Applications and Systems Engineering teams. Daily use of a PowerPC on-chip debugger. Designated as the Flight Data Recorder subject matter expert, handling inter-departmental and customer information requests. Lead Software Engineer on the A330neo and A320neo e-rudder DFDR (Digital Flight Data Recorder) software programs. Implemented new recording logic to address requirements and developed a debounce algorithm as a solution to a long standing issue with erroneous discrete input reads.Software Engineer on the FDIMU Massive Data Collection program in collaboration with Airbus. Re-wrote the FDIMU’s parallel communications module to process and pass data to a PCMCIA-ATA interface . After the initial 18 month development schedule, continued support of the program by handling problem reports and new feature requests. Assisted in development of an update to the UDP module to provide real time debug information. Also assisted in the refactoring of the TFTP module, moving to a state machine design.Assumed responsibilities as a Systems engineer when necessitated by program schedules. Created test scenarios and validation tools in C# and Python to streamline test procedure development on the aforementioned programs. Developed and tested an update to both the FDIMU UART (RS422) module and ACMS software that doubled the data throughput available to an onboard aircraft IP router. Mentor to junior engineers in both the Data Acquisitions Software group and the ACMS Software group. Responsible for onboarding and familiarizing new hires with the FDIMU software architecture and the pseudo-API used by ACMS applications. Show less
