I have been drawn to nature all my life and thereby have developed a deep passion for understanding the physics underlying the complex and interlinked processes of the earth system. My technical expertise includes modelling and forecasting of statistics of climate and hydrometeorology for analysis of river hydrology, water resources and disaster risk. I am a scientific Python programmer and professional user of open-source GIS programs. With 10 years of professional experience in international development, I am experienced in using remote sensing data for water projects in data-scarce areas. I often support the preparation of climate model or forecast data for usage in hydrological, hydraulic and water resources models for climate impact assessments.Besides my technical roles, I originally come from a business development and project management background with profound experience in the management of climate impact and water resources related projects in a development context including leading intercultural teams, the coordination of technical inputs and logistics of field surveys in conflict zones (South Sudan, Somalia, Rwanda/Burundi). I have additional experience as trainer (meteorological forecasts, Python, GIS).I hold a B.Sc. degree in “Physics of the Earth System” (focus on climate science, meteorology, oceanography) and M.Sc. degree in “Climate Physics” (focus on advanced physical climate and meteorology) from Helmholtz Centre for Climate and Ocean Research (GEOMAR).
