In this key role I am responsible for managing the strategic planning, budgeting and business development activities. I am also responsible for all operational matters and the successful delivery of technical projects undertaken by JKTech in the Americas region. The technical projects range from the development and delivery of technical training workshops for our mining clients, through to detailed Mine to Mill and Value Chain Optimization studies.

In this role I was responsible for leading a group comminution specialist and analysts on the successful delivery of comminution consulting projects utilising JKTech methodologies and simulation software; and providing mentoring and coaching support to comminution specialists and analysts.

In this role I was mainly responsible for the development of the comminution circuit design for an expansion project, which included reviewing existing data and developing appropriate testwork programs, as well as working with external engineering companies to meet the design objectives of the expansion project. Additionally, in this role, I was tasked with providing technical support with a focus on improving productivity and comminution circuit efficiency to existing Nickel West sites.

I joined Worsley Alumina as part of a BHP technical exchange program between the Base Metals and the Aluminium Customer Sector Groups, that had the focus of providing experience in different sectors to high potential employees.

The main functions in this required me to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Olympic Dam Acid plant and services facilities, while leading and supervising a the production personnel, including 17 team members with 5 direct reports. Included the roll out of the Life Preserving Rules and a 25% reduction in acid plant emissions events for FY 2006.- Development and achieving production targets and goals for the acid plant, requiring extensive liaison with other departments, and with suppliers to ensure the maintenance of stocks at target levels.- Introduced planned maintenance activities to maximise plant availability. This involved liaising with maintenance personnel, contractors and other site teams to optimise maintenance windows.- Led the operational component of the Acid Plant Major Maintenance Shutdown, achieving on time delivery of the plant for maintenance and a successful start up following a shutdown of 27 days. I this role I was tasked with monitoring the Acid Plant and services facilities, ensuring that the process was maintained within operating parameters to deliver maximum operational throughput efficiencies. Additionally I was required to reviewed and updated training documents, procedures and functional descriptions for the area, as well as the development and implementation of improvement projects.
