Sebastian Dunn Email and Phone Number
With a foundation in both molecular biology and computer science, I hold Bachelor's degrees in each, alongside a Master's in Bioinformatics. Over the course of my education and 6+ years in bioinformatic software development, I’ve developed a strong expertise in sequence analysis and the creation of scientific software. After completing my Master’s, I transitioned into game development, aiming to leverage it for science communication. For two years at DEPT® AU (formerly Two Bulls), I contributed to educational and research-focused games, and explored innovative technologies like AR/VR and generative AI. During this period, I also embraced leadership roles, gaining two years of line management experience and nurturing a passion for mentoring and team dynamics.Recently, I returned to bioinformatics as the Geneious Prime Team Lead at Dotmatics, where I oversee a team developing industry-leading software for scientific research. This role deepens my leadership journey, allowing me to apply both my technical and management skills to ensure our products meet the evolving needs of the scientific community.I remain deeply interested in the intersection of emerging technologies and education. My Master's thesis centered around developing a VR learning tool for interactive DNA exploration, and I’m excited to continue pushing the boundaries of game-based learning, particularly in scientific education. In addition, I’ve founded Double Blind Studios, a game studio focused on creating biology-themed intellectual property. Let’s connect if you're interested in combining science, technology, and creativity to foster education and innovation!
