Design consulting

Lead Designer for an enterprise-level user-facing on-vessel monitoring and control IOT application. Touched every part of the organization, from requirements gathering through to user testing and creating marketing deliverables.

Focusing on maturing the UI/UX capabilities to enable the company to smoothly scale as IMO expands its user-facing application portfolio. Implemented a culture around design thinking with the user (clinicians) in the center of all product design decisions.• Collaborated closely with product managers & product marketers to align UX to business goals• Leveraged user-centered design to inform early stage business case development• Championed prototyping methods and co-creation workshops for rapid and agile development• Introduced user feedback and design sprints into Agile development cycle• Sole UX resource tasked with bringing 6+ products from idea to market • Planned and oversaw 8+ user centered design initiatives at all stages of development• Standardized, documented, and aligned product development processes with business goals• Negotiated and developed a user/respondent pipeline.

Supported 60+ engineers as the sole designer of the growing company. Developed a design pattern that was replicable, consistent, standardized, and scalable. Worked with internal experts to develop over 15 complex internal-facing web applications, helping to build IMO’s core business offering.

Designed multi-platform mobile apps, a series of customer-facing websites, and a persisting corporate brand Identity

Developed a consistent user experience strategy for all 15 departments in the College of ACES using design thinking methodologies to gain an understanding of the stakeholders' goals and pain points. Designed a system of Drupal-based modules that allowed quick and effective roll-out of new user-friendly, easily managed websites.

Supported business development while leading bilingual design teams to successfully deliver our global client’s Chinese market strategy. Identified and developed areas of opportunity for clients such as Cadillac, LLBean, Moen, and Halls using a combination of observational and qualitative ethnographic research methods

Helped found an in-house design team to support a growing design and manufacturing company. Interfaced directly with engineers, factories, and advertisers to bring over 50 products from ideation, to manufacture, to marketing, while minimizing costs and overcoming engineering blockers.

Gained a deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies, design thinking, and rapid prototyping skills while working on fortune 500 accounts that yielded innovative & profitable results for clients. Supported multiple teams focused on various domains from banking to packaging & service design, even getting involved with the world class leading business development practice.
