Technical Sales Specialist
CurrentFeels like coming full circle when I'm once again back in a sales role and using the skills I aquired during my time in the trainee program IBM Global Sales School. Thankfully I've had ample time cultivating my skills during my tenure at Fiwe, for one by building and selling the monitoring solution, Fiwe APM, that I'm also still Product Owner for. But also from being consulted on technical manners during the sales process of many of the projects Fiwe have delivered over the years. I never really left sales, because what is consulting if not constantly selling yourself? But it never the less feels really good to be back!So far in my new, additional, role I've been part of quite a few webinars and have visited numerous companies across the Nordics. I've also been part of shaping our sales strategy moving forward and my main reflection is that contrary to I think my expectation my focus has really been on boosting the business focus of how we approach customers and when it comes to the technical aspects the main thing has been how to translate technical prowess to business benefits. I posit that when you don't understand tech, on a deeper level, you tend to think of it as cooler, more impressive or important than it truly is. Technology has no inherent value (outside my hobbies of course!) its all about what it can do for us, and this is even more true in a business context. Finally I reflect that I'm very proud of everyone at the office pouncing on AI and not only embracing it but also quickly moved it from the realm of theory and opportunity to solid implementations that provide tangible benefits and value to our customers. We've so far signed two contracts for AI-based services with many more in the pipeline, the quickest turn-around I've seen from PowerPoint to business value!
