I worked as a research assistant for the TRANSPOP project, where I compiled, processed, and analyzed historical data (newspaper articles, meeting minutes, etc.) in order to better understand the development and transnational scope of various social movements in XIX century Europe.

I worked with Professor Daniel Karell on a range of projects focused on understanding how conflict has and continues to affect the Afghan society and state.

I joined The Gazelle in 2014 as its deputy news editor. Since then, I have been news editor, editor-at-large, research editor and managing editor.During my time at The Gazelle my responsibilities included editing submitted articles, making sure publications were in line with the UAE's media laws, as well as pitching and preparing stories for publication across a variety of formats.I spearheaded the creation of a new Research Desk devoted to the publication ofacademic research by NYU Abu Dhabi faculty.
