Mayer Fine Art was founded with the goals of not only bringing the best in the current regional, national and international contemporary visual arts dialog to the city of Norfolk, Virginia and its surrounding communities, but also to expose our artists to as many diverse audiences as possible and fostering the exchange of ideas between our artists. With those goals in mind we've been successful not only in bringing some of the leading contemporary Cuban artists to Virginia, but also have been able to expose many of our artists to markets outside of the United States by working in partnership with other galleries. E[nstitute] focuses on introducing fellows to the world of entrepreneurship by providing exposure to the day-to-day operations in an early stage company from the founder's perspective. The majority of time will be spent as a founder's apprentice, where fellows work under the entrepreneur assigned uniquely to them in the application process. As a founder's apprentice, fellows gain firsthand business, technology, management, and industry knowledge. In addition, supplemental learning is structured through the program through a hyper focused curriculum that combines behavioral and cognitive development. A community of mentors and personal coaches will also support the fellows' development as they work towards completing their first year with a clearer understanding of what specific roles and/or functions appeal to both their skills and their passions.
