As project manager I am responsible for managing several projects aiming for awareness, stakeholder activation and reduction of sea waste. Main programs are:1. Boskalis Beach Cleanup Tour; with over 2000 volunteers we cleanup the entire Dutch North Sea coast in the first two weeks of August, creating public awareness, cleanup and work on public affairs2. Its activities are focused on clean seas and beaches, clean shipping, sustainable fisheries, eco-friendly sustainable energy and marine protected areas.

Part time event manager for the yearly Boskalis Beach Cleanup Tour by the North Sea Foundation. Program managing Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Within this position responsible for marketing and communication aspects of the sanctuary. Goal is to establish a 100% financial sustainable sanctuary with well running eco-tourism facilities combined with clear educational and conservation messages that reflect the core work of Tacugama: chimpanzee care, conservation and habitat protection.Core-takss:• General management of the sanctuary including tourist facilities• Lead, coach and guide team• Relationship management, networking, fundraising, reporting• Internal and external communication, public educationResults: involvement and support of local politics and community, increased visitor numbers and improved financial stability.

I have assessed some organisational processes within the organisation as a whole and specific events and advised on improvements. This resulted in an internal report. Besides this I have acted as part time communication officer for the communication and education department.

As interim manager for the Jane Goodall Institute Global, South Africa I have assessed the situation of Chimp Eden, a chimpanzee sanctuary from JGI- South Africa, and advised accordingly. I performed daily management on (online) communication, marketing, education and operations. Together with the General Manager I developed short-, mid- and long term strategies on several aspects and assured implementation.This resulted in improved safety of both visitors and chimpanzees, increased income (up to 100% monthly), increased visitor numbers, establishment of relations with (local) entrepreneurs and 30.000 extra facebook followers.

As primate ecology researcher I researched and monitored a group of 30 yellow baboons and 25 vervet monkeys which we released in National Park Kasungu, Malawi, as part of the release program by the Lilongwe Wildlife Trust. Research consists of habitat assessment, habitat use by the baboons and vervet monkeys and general behavioural studies. Another major part of the work is general management of the project and communication with local authorities and government.Core tasks:• Project management.• Lead of local team and master students• Analysis, reporting and advice for future release programsResult: one of the most successful primate releases ever in Africa. Within the communication department I was responsible for development and strategy of social media and website communication. I managed projects and produced events. This included fundraising, marketing and promotion of the 30-year anniversary of the North Sea Foundation. I assigned and did oversee the development of an educational application for Iphone and Android. Increasing educational outreach.

During a two month period I organised and produced a series of events and debates. I also managed a joined effort of several organisations in building a national website. I managed to do this in 2 months being responsible for communication between the organisations and the design and content of the website.
