I was an unpaid college campus tour guide. It was purely voluntary. Did I mention these tours were scheduled for weekend mornings? During my undergraduate tenure, I perfected my "Pied Piper" artistry and overcame my fear of speaking to large groups of strangers. Who knew this skill would launch my eventual career? And remember when airplanes allowed smoking in the cabin? Yeah, me too. Air travel has changed a lot since then - some good, some bad - but man, I still get goosebumps when I approach Departures. And maybe to show my gratitude to my parents who applied for my first passport when I was an infant, I've never let my passport expire. Never. It's always current because you never know when you have to pick up and go. I even have a little bag packed just in case. (I'm kidding, I don't, but it's probably a good idea. It feels a little James Bond or Ethan Hunt-ish.) Those early travel-bug induced experiences have shaped how I view the world, communities, and people. My modern-day nomadic travel habits have enabled me to connect with people, share stories, and be able to listen to words sometimes left unspoken. Through a series of serendipitous events, my career journey has led me to the complex, oftentimes misunderstood world of communications in a mostly technology-focused industry, where I've honed my craft for almost 20 years.I'm grateful to have lived, worked, studied and traveled abroad in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. I have a deep passion for diversity & inclusion, and I'm an active participant in various philanthropic and community-based activities and initiatives.When I'm not managing communications for executives and corporations, you can find me convincing my three children to eat their vegetables, floss their teeth, and teaching them to be kind and empathetic humans. In the remaining waking hours, you can usually find me discovering new hiking trails, relaxing to riveting crime podcasts, perfecting my Dutch Oven-baked artisanal bread, bravely attempting DIY and landscape projects, or teaching my set of battle ropes and sandbag who’s the boss.
