I am a recent graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder and I am looking forward to a career in engineering. Throughout my final year at the University of Colorado in Boulder, I had the specific opportunity to gain invaluable experience taking an engineering project from beginning to end. With my contributions, my team developed a robot capable of moving itself around a large-diameter bolt circle within the hub of a wind turbine. As the Systems Engineer of the team I played a major role in writing planning reports and design reviews throughout the design process and I developed excellent technical communication skills for presentation and documentation. This project proved to provide skills using SolidWorks for our designs and drawings with MATLAB for design analysis. I also had the opportunity to design electronic drive systems and their controls. As the Systems Engineer I worked closely with the Test Engineer to develop a test plan focusing on a safe and reliable system. A key aspect of this test plan was writing repeatable and clear instructions for testing technicians to follow. All the team worked with Microsoft Office software to create documentation, manage spreadsheets, and present to our client. Through this I gained valuable knowledge about the advanced features and use-cases for Microsoft Office.
