We showed relevant ads throughout the app which allowed us to pick up the cost of all data used.Speakk empowered thousands of South Africans to be able to communicate in an environment where data costs are prohibitively high, while offering advertisers an innovative channel to engage with the mass market.The business's IP was acquired by a strategic partner in 2022.

I was appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Tariffic in February 2014 leading this disruptive new startup. I was responsible for strategy, business growth & development, product development, people development, and all other aspects of the business. Tariffic’s primary product is to help companies manage & minimise their corporate cell phone bills through an innovative, real-time solution. It subsequently grew from a proof-of-concept product into a major player in the South African cellular industry – empowering businesses and individuals to drastically cut their cellphone bills, and working with strategic partners to implement the Tariffic technology in many other environments.

Seconded from Transaction Capital to SA Taxi to implement the assessment function for the company’s Taximart operation, which is responsible for the repair and refurbishment of all repossessed minibus taxis. Role was expanded to include responsibility for Parts & Procurement and Panel Repairs.Responsibilities : - Develop and implement a full assessment function with the intention of determining the correct process flow for each vehicle & to reduce bottlenecks by adequately preparing the workshop for the arrival of the vehicle. - Manage the parts & procurement and panel repair function in the business.- Ensure that all teams are adequately staffed & that a succession plan is in place.- Report, analyse & optimise the process flow throughout business.

Worked with Mark Lamberti, Group Chief Executive Officer of Transaction Capital, as his Executive Assistant while initiating and overseeing various Group projects and corporate finance opportunities.Responsibilities:- Attended many high level meetings with the CEO taking minutes and following-up where necessary. These meetings include Board meetings, Sub-Committee meetings, Executive Committee meetings, subsidiary Board meetings, and subsidiary strategy sessions.- Assisted the CEO with various ad-hoc projects.- Part of the core team responsible for the listing of the company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in June 2012.- Implemented and operated the Investor and Media Relations function for the Group once listed.- Chairman of Group’s B-BBEE Champion’s Forum and responsible for implementing and managing the Group’s B-BBEE ratings and transformation initiatives. - Responsible for Group marketing and internal communications, including the company's internal magazine (annual distribution of 7,500 copies), the company's website, and internal events.- Developed Transaction Capital’s Social & Ethics Committee and implemented processes throughout the Group to report to the Committee on a quarterly basis.- Monitored competitor performance and developments, and prepared a monthly market analysis newsletter for distribution to company executives.- Operated an induction programme for new company Directors. - Responsible for the Group’s various collaborative forums where executives from specific disciplines would meet regularly to collaborate on procurement and projects.

Worked with Transaction Capital's subsidiaries to identify synergies and collaborative opportunitiesResponsibilities :- Assisted in the implementation and administration of the Group's various collaborative Forums.- Consolidated the company's short-term and financial lines insurance with a single broker saving the company approximately R3 million.- Facilitated the Group's maiden B-BBEE rating.- Redesigned the company’s website and introduced its social media presence.- Published a quarterly internal magazine.- Initiated various other ad-hoc projects and supported the Group Commercial Executive as required.

Founded, designed, developed and managed a website, 21hippos.com, which is a social recommendation site that allows users to share reviews with friends from their existing social networks on a variety of topics (including restaurants, bars, movies, book, hotels and tourist attractions). Officially launched in January 2010, 21hippos.com had many active users and a database with over 10,000 entries.
