-Liaise between caseworkers to ensure that all children who are currently not in the primary care of their parents, have access to a pediatric assessment-Schedule and book appointments for the child to have a pediatric assessment that ensures that all stakeholders can attend the appointment-Complete a detailed and in-depth intake for the child by collecting information from the provincial electronic child intervention record system, as well as conversing with the child’s caseworker, caregiver and parent(s), to provide the pediatrician with all the necessary information to have a comprehensive understanding of the child’s medical, developmental and social needs as well as the child's unique history, to be able to make accurate diagnoses

-Answer the Southern Alberta Child Intervention Services, 24/7 phone line. Collect information from the caller and use critical thinking as well as consultation with supervisors to determine if the allegations meet the legislative threshold to be deemed as potential child abuse cases-Accurately document the key concerns from the referral source as well as the rationale as to why the file needs further assessment into the provincial electronic child intervention record system -Provide support to community members as well as other multidisciplinary teams to educate them about the child welfare mandate, provide more appropriate resources if the allegations do not meet the child protection mandate

-Work closely with youth to create Transition to Independence Plans (TIP) as well as to connect youth to life skills and independent living programming-Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as youth justice, youth probation, mental health services, adult disability service such as AISH and PDD, and schools to support youth successfully transition to adulthood-Provide support to youth that are facing multiple challenges such as addictions, mental health concerns, as well as pregnant and parenting youth

-Utilizing the child protection legislation, assess risk and protective factors of children and families and provide child intervention services-Create service plans with clients based on court ordered terms, monitor and evaluate quality of services and outcomes, and prepare legal documents for court proceedings-Provide direct service such as conflict resolution, de-escalate crisis situations and liaise with community-based service providers to deliver effective and efficient social supports to clients

-Worked alongside women to assist them in increasing their social, emotional and financial resources through the collaborative development and management of action plans, in order to support them in obtaining safe, permanent, affordable housing in the community-Worked closely with the management team to streamline documents, update polices and allow greater accessibility to information for the clients served-Liaised with community-based service providers to deliver social supports to clients and provide crisis counseling as required

-Assisted with meeting the day-to-day needs of shelter clients-Provided crisis counselling-Increased clients’ awareness of resources, personal strengths and skills
