After graduation with a bachelor’s degree in food engineering from the Department of Food Engineering of Atatürk University in Turkey, I worked in two sectors of the food industry: fermented drink (turnip juice), catering. Mainly, my responsibility was the maintenance of all quality assurance records and the fulfillment of quality control tests. These private sector experiences besides internships I did in milk and fruit juice factories during my student years provided me with direct experience of the problems in the food industry. More important, I realized the importance of knowledge and higher education, and decided to continue my career in academia. I graduated from my Master of Science in Food Engineering Department at Harran University.I consider myself as one of self-dedicated person to food safety. As a PhD student working on controlled environment agriculture with the focus of pre-harvest microgreen contamination and pre- and post-harvest treatments.
