In 2017 Rick Segal joined GFG REAL ESTATE ASSET MANAGEMENT as a top-ranking advisor.GFG AM is a boutique hotel and resort management group providing advisory services to hotels in the Americas.We look for opportunities to maximize cash flow while maintaining or enhancing the hotel’s market position. We also seek to improve the physical attributes of hotels/ resorts in our portfolio carefully monitoring the on-site property to ensure optimal maintenance, quality and performance within the respective competitive set.

Rick Segal joined Soulity, a forward thinking Hospitality Consultancy founded by his son Ilan. As a Member of the Board, he actively participated in the development and execution of concepts for the next generation of Lifestyle Hotel Experiences. Soulity’s objective is to provide cost-effective solutions to Owners, Developers and Lenders in the management an enhancement of their hospitality assets. Some examples of services we perform are:Operational Assessment/Standards, Financial Performance, Management Team Oversight, Sales and Marketing Effectiveness, Competitive Analysis, Relations with Brand/Management Companies, Contract Compliance, among others.

In 2012 Rick Segal relocated to Miami to rejoin his former Company of 28 years, Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the capacity of Vice President, Owners Services, Latin America and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. (South America, Mexico, Central America and Caribbean Region) a position he successfully held from 2012 until April of 2015. Working across nine brands (Westin, Sheraton, Four Points, Aloft, Le Meridien, W, St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Elements, all of them under the Starwood international umbrella. Rick Segal took responsibility for relations with owners and operators of nearly 80 existing hotels and some 20 more under development. His operational knowledge and corporate experience helped Owners maximize their revenue; increase their asset value while delivering a superior guest experience.

The Chicago chapter in Rick Segal’s career begins in 2000 with the opening of the Park Hyatt Chicago, a mixed use development that brings together a flagship hotel, the Windy City’s most sought-after luxury condominiums, upscale retailers and other lavish amenities.Initially, Rick Segal oversaw all pre-opening activities and management of the Hotel and Nomi, its award-wining restaurant.He was soon promoted to Managing Director of Park Hyatt Hotels, North America, reporting to Hyatt International COO. In this position he developed and mentored management teams across the continent, while never leaving his responsibilities in Chicago. During the years of 2000 to 2011 an under his administration the Park Hyatt complex consistently received awards and critical acclaim.

In 1991, Rick Segal was promoted to Sheraton World Headquarters in Boston, as Vice President, Director of Operations for The Luxury Collection, beginning a successful extended stay in North America. He was instrumental in establishing quality standards for the Luxury Collection brand, a top-class hospitality organization with over 100 hotels in 5 continents.He closely supervised the reopening of The Carlton (today St Regis) in Washington DC, and The St. Regis in Manhattan, of which he became Managing Director, position he held until retiring from the company in 1999.During his tenure, both The St. Regis and its restaurant, Lespinasse, were bestowed Five Mobil Stars and Five Triple A Diamonds, the highest recognition for ITT Sheraton/Starwood.

During his five-year assignment as General Manager of the Sheraton San Cristobal, in Santiago, Chile, (1986-1991) he was distinguished with ITT Corporation’s topmost global accolade, the Harold S. Geneen Award for Creative Management.

During the years of 1983 to 1986, Rick Segal was Hotel Manager in his native Argentina, where he was closely involved in the development and execution of the Luxury Tower project at Sheraton Buenos Aires. (1983-1986)

Rick Segal established his style-savvy leadership in the seventies at the Tel Aviv Sheraton, as Director of Sales and Marketing, then Food and Beverage Director, where he participated in the development of The Golden Floor, a VIP concept that became the norm for other Tower Concierge Floors within the company.
