I am currently co-investigating an industry-driven collaborative project, Tuber NetZero, which is funded by UKRI. Our partners in this endeavour include B-hive Innovations Ltd., Branston Ltd., Crop Systems Ltd., David Armstrong Farms, Arbikie Farms Ltd. in Scotland, and the University of Lincoln, UK. Within project scope, I am responsible for leading three distinct sub-work package (WP);WP 1: In-situ measurement and monitoring of GHG (CO2 and N2O) emissions and the implications of switching fertilizers from synthetic to novel low-carbon footprint organo-mineral fertilizer in potato systems.WP 2: Measure and monitor in-situ CO2 flux from novel potato cultivation techniques across contrasting soil types and management practices towards reducing soil carbon losses.WP 3: Exploiting soil biological systems to reduce potato crop reliance on synthetic fertilizers: mycorrhizal fungi inoculation and manipulation experiment.Overall, this project aims to develop specific approaches towards the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from potato footprints, viz., cultivation intensity, soil health, fertilizer use, and across the entire production chain. Other responsibilities include teaching undergraduate course modules in soil science and sustainable land use

I designed module materials, lecture and coordinated field practicals for undergraduate students. The courses included Principles of Soil Science, Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, Soil Microbiology and Biochemistry, Soil Conservation and Management, Introduction to Soil Ecology, and Land Use Change and Soil Functioning. I created laboratory demonstrations to illustrate concepts in soil management, crop production, and farming systems and graded students
