It all started at my mother's retail store. As a child, I would go through her cash register, and try to make sense of her daily sales report. How much was sold, how much each item cost, how much profit was made at the end of the day. This fondness for structure and order led me down the path towards accounting.I kick-started my career as a finance officer at TSL, a large logistics company. In this role, I worked on managing their accounts receivable and maintaining the general ledger. This experience honed my skills, and I was able to reduce the accounts receivable turnover ratio.Fast forward to today, I have spent over a decade in financial reporting, FP&A, tax management, and corporate finance. My professional experience stretches from the private sector to the public service. I worked as the Senior Accountant at Daystar Power Group (a renewable energy company fully owned by Shell Global) and Bestaf Technologies (a software development start-up), where my skills were instrumental in driving business growth. My primary responsibility was to oversee the company's global financial reporting and streamline key financial processes. I excel in creating comprehensive financial models that forecast business trends and inform strategic decisions. My approach is proactive: I anticipate financial challenges and opportunities, ensuring that businesses are well-positioned for future success. I take pride in my ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.
