Hi, Welcome to my Linked In profile!I am an Engineer in Training registered with APEGA with a BSc. Electrical Engineering working towards my professional engineer designation.I graduated from the University of Calgary and 6 months prior to my graduation I was able to secure a Project Engineer position with Bornemann Pumps.I started on December 15th. While the colleagues were planning holidays, I was hired to provide support on a project which was lagging to meet the scope, time, and cost. By demonstrating strong communication skills and by utilizing my previous relevant work experience in project management as a project coordinator I was recognized by the CEO and appointed as a lead for the project in the New Year.My engineering degree has taught me the technical skills that empowered me to have success on the projects I worked on. I analyzed technical issues by root cause analysis to determine the source of the problem. I created and implemented solutions and was able to deliver my first project post-graduation on time, under cost, and meeting the scope set by the customer. Some of the accomplishments are:- Eliminated engineering rework and reduced the completion timeline of the project by 50% by always analyzing and mitigating risks. - I received an award for excellent coordination with industry participants for engineering design based on engineering principles delivering the project on time within scope and budget (see below).- My Internship work experience at Kearl Oil Sands led to savings of $80,000 on a project by creating electrical heat tracing drawings to be done in-house.Later, I decided to take a sabbatical to raise my family and thoroughly enjoyed my time in their development. I have also traveled and enjoyed multiple destinations around the world with my family. During my time at home, I have completed a Project Management by PMI. Soon, I will be completing the following courses with Udemy (Power BI, ETAP for Electrical Engineers, and Python) to enhance my skills and keep me competitive in today’s market. My love for coffee has also grown during this time and I have taken up a new hobby and I have turned into a Barista in Training.I am ecstatic about exploring new career opportunities and I believe as an electrical engineer; my expertise and educational background will be well utilized during and post-pandemic (COVID-19).Thank you for taking the time to read about me, to discuss more of my story, feel free to leave me a message and connect with me on LinkedIn or via email at sehrish.a.hasan@gmail.com
