I obtained my B.S. in Chemistry from Illinois State University in 2016. I continued on to obtain my Master's Degree working on developing and testing complexes for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease through the use of many wet lab techniques including, but not limited to, reflux, distillation, rotary evaporation, and the use of a Schlenk line. In addition to this, instrumentation such as NMR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and Mass Spectrometry has been used. For the last 3 1/2 years, as well, I have been an Undergraduate and Graduate TA to many classes including General Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Inorganic Chemistry I and II. I was honored with the award for best Graduate Teaching Assistant in Spring 2018. While these experiences have helped to teach me the technical aspects of chemistry, I was also able to hold multiple retail jobs during this time at Things Remembered, Pier 1, and RadioShack as well as being a tutor for General Chemistry I and II. These experiences required teamwork, timeliness, organization, and other skills that will be able to be carried over to my future endeavors.
