I have a background in sales, science, research, and medicine. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, I immediately began my career at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama working in the operating room. This opportunity opened my eyes to how the medical field really works. It allowed me to view all the different opportunities the medical field has to offer.While in school at the University of Tennessee, I had an internship with Apple Health and Wellness where I was given the opportunity to work with Chiropractors, Nurse Practitioners, Physical Therapists, and Massage Therapists. My role in the facility allowed me to gain further knowledge in medical terminology, patient charting, and medical technology. I set up electrical stimulation therapy, performed ultrasounds and UV light therapy on clients mostly experiencing back and neck pain. This positive and stimulating experience, as well as my degree in Kinesiology, is what led me to further explore the medical field. While working at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Orthopedics, I assisted with patient care and surgery preparation and closing. By being involved in the operating room, I quickly learned sterile technique and its importance. I also transported patients throughout the hospital system and interacted with different physicians and clinicians.My time at St. Vincent’s sparked my interest in medical and pharmaceutical sales and the huge impact they have in the medical field. I have some background in sales and wish to further my knowledge in the area. While in school I worked as a sales consultant with Victoria Secret where I was constantly challenged to meet sales quotas and push new products. My success with Victoria Secret led me to another sales associate job with SunTan City.
