I imagined I was going to live in a loft, and everything would be just like Andy Warhol’s The Factory. Just me and my art.And for a while I actually did live in the dream of Andy Warhol and his gang; but it wasn’t really fun and inspiring.
I got the allergies from all the tin-canned tomato, I was eating.I needed more and better business.So, I started looking into how to create just that- figuring out how I could make reproducible art pieces and then sell with less time spent on doing unique art pieces. I pitched my idea to a big business hot shot, and it didn’t really fly. But the process had ignited something- I wanted to create products that aspired to a better world, and at the same time would create a healthy business: I was going to be an engineer, facilitating innovation, design and strategy, creating meaningful products.
So, back to school, and earn a degree as engineer. It made perfect sense to be an artist and an engineer, to someone like me that loves thinking across boxes rather than sitting in one.
And what about today?Rightfully I call myself a Fuzzy Techie, that easily navigate and bridge technical domains and people✔️I create valuable products that not only deliver beyond expectations but leave a lasting mark on the culture, people, and organization.✔️ I have the black belt in facilitating workshops, creating excitement and tangible outcomes.🥷✔️ I thrive and excel in uncertainty, motivating people around me, by structuring and maturing design processes and operations.I don’t see change as a problem that needs to be solved, but as a process that needs to be facilitated.Besides crafting design I am very curious to understand how design can scale as a method and a capacity seeking to answer:❔What needs to work together in an organisation to create services and products?❔How can we weave design into the systems and ways of working that already exists, rather than creating something new and different?❔How can we think design beyond "craft" and more as a strategic component, in creating better processes and innovative products?❔Are we solving a creative problem or an organisational one, when asked to develop a product?Do you have more to add to the list?
