Spring supports human rights and climate justice leaders to drive and accelerate change with breakthrough programs and services that expand human capacities and enable meaningful impact. I have co-designed and co-facilitated a 4-day intensive for practitioners on how to take their facilitation work into virtual environments, keep people engaged and connected online, and deal with complexity and productivity online during this time of rapid moves to virtual work. I also serve on the team for the Spring's FIRE program, which delivers transformational results on leadership, financial modeling, purposeful communications and resource mobilization designed to increase the sustainability of NGOs. As the program's strategic communications designer and clinician, I help build the skills of organizational leaders, trainers, coaches and facilitators with an original, entrepreneurial approach to building support for the often complex, intersectional missions at the heart of social justice work.

New Day is a filmmaker-run distribution company providing award-winning social issue films to educators for 40 years. It is cooperatively run by more than 100 filmmaker members, and is a top educational media distributor. I design and run two major business meetings a year for up to 90 participants, shepherd and inspire their developmental collaborative leadership practices, and provide ongoing leadership and process consultation to all components of this innovative, evolving B-Corps Certified social enterprise.

I work with leaders and teams to dramatically extend their range of skills and sphere of influence. Clients are leaders in networks, social enterprises, philanthropies and nonprofits -- often in high stakes situations where the business case and building of resources must align with innovation and the development of people to advance social change. I have a deep portfolio of experience helping leaders and teams substantively shift how they make their case for resources, adapt in transitions, increase impact within decentralized systems, ensure learning and results in program design, strategically plan for the future, and facilitate interactive, collaborative meetings. I work as an Executive Coach with individuals and small teams, making use of certifications as an Integral Coach from New Ventures West, and a C-IQ Conversational Intelligence Coach-Facilitator, as well as substantive training in tools and methodologies from Minds at Work Immunity to Change, Social Transformational Consulting, Accelerated Learning, and Contextual Leadership.I am also the author of the online course "Making An Unforgettable Case for Giving." I deliver this course to leaders and teams who want a replicable, reliable method of making their case for resources, whether delivered person-to-person or via websites, email, social media, newsletters, proposals, campaigns, etc. I've delivered tools from this course to over 100 organizations across the globe. In this half-time role for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Golden Gate Chapter, I worked with a very active board of directors and nearly 500 members in the San Francisco Bay Area. AFP Golden Gate is one of the largest chapters in the worldwide AFP. Members are active fundraising-related professionals -- executive directors, development and communications leaders, associates, board members, consultants and coaches. AFP Golden Gate produces over 50 professional development programs a year, partners with sponsors, and promotes ethical philanthropy and leadership opportunities for members. In my tenure, I revamped and updated numerous chapter systems, including building a new website hub, and oversaw a doubling of annual program events, increase in membership and sponsorships, and significant growth in the operating budget. www.afpgoldengate.org

The Institute for Women's Leadership (IWL) partners with multinational corporations, federal governments, global nonprofits, and emerging businesses to achieve ambitious and sustainable goals. IWL innovates in the area of women's leadership by focusing its trademark "Contextual Leadership" methodology on Gender Partnership (optimizing the full contribution of men and women). In this position, I worked with the Haas, Jr. Fund team in considering the challenges and opportunities before small and mid-size nonprofit organizations when it comes to fundraising, and in supporting solutions to build and retain fundraising talent in the sector.

In a time of leadership transition, I studied what it takes to lead in networks and other decentralized systems, and delivered program design recommendations to help the board and new leadership build a more resilient network for a new era. With 160 member funds and foundations, the Women's Funding Network is one of the largest and most diverse affinity networks in the field of philanthropy.

WFN is 160 organizations that fund women's solutions across the globe, making it one of the largest collaborative philanthropic networks in the world. I have worked with over 100 leaders in member funds as a consultant, trainer, designer, coach, facilitator, and thought partner -- particularly assisting them in leading efforts to build ongoing commitment of human, financial, intellectual and leadership capital.

In these intensive fund development programs for Women's Funding Network, worked with board and staff leaders of women's foundations to raise tens of millions in new dollars on five continents. Authored three curriculums: Guide to the Women of Color International Development Incubator; With Elders Behind Us & Generations Before Us: Raising Resources to Make a Powerful Difference; and the Tables of Giving Toolkit.

Co-founded this professional symphony orchestra dedicated to the promotion of women conductors, musicians and composers; negotiated the labor and economic landscape necessary to make an orchestra viable; won industry awards for adventuresome programming; attracted new audiences with world premieres. I was the conductor the the orchestra's first years, but remained involved as co-founder, including a stint as Interim Executive Director, through the organization's 23-year life (papers and collection now at Fleisher Free Library in Philadelphia).

Executive produced recordings and live concerts by folk, Latin and world music artists; received a Grammy nomination in Latin Jazz; commissioned and conducted annual premieres of new spirituals for modern times by Bernice Johnson Reagon, Ysaye Barnwell, and others; and led an organization dedicated to inspiring social action through music and collaborative partnerships.

Built this organization for high school and college-age singers into a national model that included a paid ensemble of highly-talented youth, many of whom now have professional careers. Commissioned partnerships and works from various recording industry stars, most notably a long-standing collaboration with Bobby McFerrin's "Voicestra."
