Developed the content design and user research strategy for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services appellant portal. Supporting design and research for the Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security. Facilitated ecosystem mapping workshop, led user research for Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security. Conducted usability testing for the New Jersey Department of Labor. Co-led service blueprinting, supported workshop activities, and led content/concept testing for the Bureau of Consular Affairs for the U.S. Department of State.

We wanted to explore technological interventions for algorithmic news platforms by recording the emotional effect of the things users read in real time, by building a representative dataset of affective text, and spurring mindful consumption of media. Our project aimed to reimagine the news. We wanted to gauge the emotional effect that reading the news has on people, using data science, user experience, animation, interactivity, sound design, and motion design.

Co-led the workshop,“Slow Design To Solve Big Problems.” at UX Week 2018. We researched, outlined, test-ran, presented and facilitated a workshop where we took attendees on a public bus trip to observe how service design can improve the existing infrastructure of the public bus system.

Supported and guided UX manager in how to implement an in-house creative brief and update a style guide. Provided tips for improving team workflow, and how to give and receive good feedback. Also partnered with the mentee on a Design For Good project: Using experience design, digital design, and UX design to improve how hospital emergency rooms communicate waittimes to patients.

In 2004, developed a new bottle design as part of my technical illustration and 3D modeling classes. Now going through the design patent process. My blog miniseries, "Owning What You Make" covers the highs and lows of when a graphic designer pursues industrial design.
