I love staying up on the latest leadership research - and use it to write columns for NBC News Know Your Value & Philadelphia Magazine on how to make work "work" for women. I also host a weekly show on LinkedIn Live, an invite-only platform, all about ways to elevate women at work. I advise organizational leaders and allies on how to create more gender-inclusive cultures by running targeted focus groups with employees. The unvarnished findings of those focus groups, combined with best practices in inclusion and facilitation, helps create lasting culture breakthroughs.

Business Chemistry is an assessment tool developed by Deloitte that brings a data-driven approach to observing and understanding differences in people’s work styles. Using the Business Chemistry® assessment system, I coached leaders and teams on how to capitalize on their diversity - by creating a culture that enables each member to make their best contribution. I also conducted research on Business Chemistry's behavioral types as they relate to topics such as individual and team performance, leadership, employee engagement and retention, stress, and gender and generational differences. I designed and delivered Business Chemistry experiences for leadership teams, exploring the ways in which their work is shaped by the mix of individuals who make up the team - and the unique characteristics they each possess. My clients represented Deloitte's "crown jewel" and global strategic accounts. When not delivering Business Chemistry sessions, I focused my time writing thought leadership on how leaders and teams can capitalize on their diversity by creating a culture that enables each member to make their best contribution. I also lead-authored a study on millennials' work preferences which debunked conventional lore about this generation.

As the principal of my own consultancy, I focused on enhancing employees' leadership skills through action learning and training. I also advised talent leaders on how to position an inclusive workplace as a business advantage through Women's Roadmap. Clients included eBay, Harvard, UBS, Pfizer, the Treasury Department, LinkedIn, The Clinton Foundation, Accenture, Princeton University and many others.My debut book, "The Next Generation of Women Leaders (Praeger, 2009) called for Generation X and millennial women to be seen as a viable talent pool and leadership pipeline. My second book, Pushback: How Smart Women Ask—and Stand Up—for What They Want (Jossey-Bass, 2012) focused on the unmatched power of negotiation skills in women’s career advancement. My advice and commentary were featured in The Wall Street Journal, The LA Times, Oprah.com, ABC and NBC television and many others. I also served as a commentator on NPR's "51%: The Women's Perspective", and wrote an award winning column for The Washington Post.
