 Interprets simultaneously and consecutively to facilitate communication between patient/family and provider throughout the Grady Hospital System. Serves as an ally by understanding non-verbal cues and bridging cultural gaps between patient and providers when necessary.

 Independent contractor interpreting mainly for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, ages 6-18, in a variety of school settings. Advocates for children’s right to equal access to education and promotes self-advocacy.

 Translated ASL conversations in classroom footage from a variety of schools across the country and developed transcripts to be used by researchers analyzing reading instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

 Worked alongside Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists in providing direct care to more than 15 patients daily across all areas of the hospital. Provided care to pediatric patients within the Burn Unit while assisting in therapy and procedures.  Communicated daily with Spanish speaking patients in their native language about their medical care.
