Over 11 years of corrections-related experience and currently in the role of Case Manager III/Supervisor for the Colorado Department of Corrections in the Assessment and Classification Unit. In this unique and specialized area, I supervise a team that conducts initial assessments, risk assessments, crisis intervention by initiating intervention protocols, and creating referrals and recommendations for all new arrivals and returning offenders to the department. I have advanced in my career through promotions within the correctional series, demonstrating my commitment to professional growth and development. I understand the importance of maintaining safety and security protocols while also fostering staff engagement and building positive relationships with the population we serve.Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in various roles such as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), a Field Training Officer (FTO) in every job series, and I have had the privilege of being a member of the CDOC Honor Guard.My personal belief is that every individual has the potential for positive change, regardless of their circumstances. I am dedicated to providing a path forward and instilling hope in those I serve, aiming to empower them to become better versions of themselves.
