In the late 80s, I joined my father's business, H.A. Timber Industry Ltd., in Farashganj, Old Dhaka. From the very beginning, I had a strong desire to bring new ideas and improvements to our family business.In 1989, I took a big leap and started Hatil Doors. With my father's support, I opened a small shop in Badda. To my surprise, people loved our doors, and the demand grew quickly. This success led us to rent a flour mill in Gandaria, Old Dhaka, and turn it into a door-making factory. We also expanded our range to include teak beds and dining tables, showcasing the talent of our skilled craftsmen. Hatil furniture formally started its journey in 1993 by renting a 5,000 sq ft factory in Kuril. In 2002, we introduced a special lacquer finish, adding a touch of sophistication to our furniture. To accommodate our growing operations, we rented another factory in Shyampur Industrial City, Old Dhaka, in 2003. We organized design competitions to encourage creativity, even though finding full-time designers was challenging. A major milestone was when we acquired my father's land in Savar's Jirani, consolidating our factories and making our operations more efficient.The success of HATIL is thanks to our commitment to excellence, quality, and making customers happy. I'm grateful for our dedicated team and partners who share our values. Together, we're determined to keep HATIL at the forefront of the industry.Against all odds, HATIL has blossomed from a modest shop into a cherished and respected brand, profoundly transforming the furniture landscape in Bangladesh. As I humbly continue to lead HATIL, my utmost commitment remains to ensure the happiness and satisfaction of our valued customers, while striving to create exceptional experiences for everyone involved.
