Assist the Antar lab focusing on the pathogenesis of HIV latency as well as the biomarkers associated with long COVID-19; specifically examining CD4+ T cells that are latently infected with HIV in individuals who are adherent to antiretroviral therapy. Works on prospective observational clinical study evaluating the long-term symptoms and side effects of COVID-19 in cohorts of people living with and without HIV to lay the groundwork for therapies for individuals with long COVID-19.Received the Hodson Trust Provost Undergraduate Research Award of $6,000 to pursue an independent research project in Summer 2023 testing the association of SARS-CoV-2 antigen persistence with long COVID using T cell receptor frequencies.

Assist research team on ongoing NIH-funded research project focused on assessing population-level dynamics of HIV drug resistance and viremia following the emergence of COVID-19 in Uganda, examining the impact of COVID-19 on HIV treatment and service-availability, evaluating HIV incidence trends and acquisition risks by conducting interviews with HIV service providers, and using deep sequence viral phylogenetic data to identify source-recipient transmission pairs.

Assist research team on two ongoing NIH-funded research studies examining the barriers to the use of HIV prevention medication (pre-exposure prophylaxis) among women of color & serodiscordant couples: WiSE (Women's Study in Sexual Health & Empowerment) & Magnetic Couples Study (MCS). Lead the development of a collaborative manuscript as first author which has been published in the AIDS Care scientific journal focusing on the psychosocial predictors of sexual dysfunction among heterosexual HIV positive men.
