Dedicated and highly motivated high school educator with a profound interest in Bicultural-Bilingual Education and its significance in fostering cultural awareness and inclusivity. As an English teacher, I am deeply committed to creating a dynamic learning environment that encourages diverse perspectives and celebrates the richness of our multicultural society.My academic journey includes pursuing a Master of Arts in Mexican American Studies, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the historical, literary, and cultural aspects that shape the Mexican American experience. My research, published in the esteemed Journal of Multicultural Affairs, explores innovative ways to bridge the educational and digital divide during challenging times, reflecting my dedication to embracing technology for enhanced learning.At the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies conference, I had the privilege of co-presenting "Hermanas del Alma: Bustin' the Paradigm!" The insightful roundtable discussion highlighted the importance of fostering Queer Chicana/x femme-tee/femme-torship relationships in our studies. Through a collaborative approach, we aimed to disrupt academic norms, fostering a transformative vision for inclusive diversity and empowering marginalized voices in academia.I have been honored to share my insights and experiences in interviews, including with CNN, where I advocate for LGBTQ inclusivity and safe spaces within the educational realm. Creating a nurturing environment where all students can thrive and explore their identities is one of my core missions as an educator.With over a decade of teaching experience, including roles as an English II Master Teacher and a dedicated Teacher Mentor, I have honed my skills in effectively guiding students toward academic success and personal growth. Additionally, my active participation in committees such as Response to Intervention and UIL Literary Criticism Sponsorship has allowed me to contribute significantly to the school community.I am excited to connect with fellow educators, professionals, and individuals who share a passion for transformative education.
