Founding my first foreign-owned investment company may sound grand, when in reality, it was a bit of an accident.Driven by my teenage dream of bringing creativity to life through property, I one day packed my bags, set off to Bali, Indonesia, and began freestyle renovating a project. Simultaneously, I learned about the business-related laws and regulations of Indonesia. An officially established company was required from the very beginning, and so "The Cocoon Estate" was born.The Cocoon Estate turned from a renovation project into a small rental business. But our business is not rentals. We create comfort spaces for guests who want to feel home away from home. It’s that simple.

Even after two years, my mother still struggled to grasp the nature of my role at the time. However, she is not alone in this regard. I figured that the majority of people outside the pharmaceutical industry (understandably) share the same lack of understanding, including myself prior to working in this position.But let me explain it this way: Do you remember when you as a child used to create magical elixirs in the garden, utilizing anything you could possibly find such as dirt, stones, soap, flowers, and other things your mom probably wouldn't appreciate being wasted? That was somewhat similar to my role at Biogen.The only difference being that the magical elixir I handled at my job brought about tangible changes. Specifically, it aimed to provide individuals with neurological disorders a chance for a better quality of life. The infrastructure at our core client's location required the establishment, expansion, and optimization of four receptions/entrances, all while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards. Through this experience, I truly grasped the meaning of team cohesion. My love for Indonesia and especially for the island of Bali was born. Although up until that point traveling to Asia didn't even make it close to my bucket list.
