Establishing ChickTech’s presence in the DC area. This has included interviewing and selecting the leadership team, reaching out to partners and sponsors, setting up a high school extra-curricular program, hosting networking events, and overseeing the chapter’s budget.

Utilizing existing research to prepare and submit funding applications for federal grants (US- AID, DFID, etc). Creating and maintaining a database of potential funding sources, and ensuring that proposal deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Worked to research and develop new sources of corporate, federal, and trust funding; this included creating and maintaining a funding/CRM database, as none previously existed.

Managed a portfolio of 176 grants totaling $55,189,023.95 across 11 different programs to ensure compliance with awarded funding. This included preparing and submitting disbursement requests, drafting and reviewing contracts, communicating directly with grantees, and ensuring that all aspects of the grant making process run smoothly. Overall, I processed $3,819,036.66 in payments.

Worked as a consultant for 5 local entrepreneurs in Nakuru, Kenya. Helped test and develop business ideas and adapt business plans according to the results. Drafted funding proposals, including financial data and forecasts, for micro-finance loans - all of which were ultimately successful. Was elected to serve on a pitch panel to help make decisions about funding.

Helped redesign and test the My School My Voice (MSMV) UK program curriculum; this included creating educational material for future use and researching related programs. Researched funding sources for the program and added them to existing CRM database. Prepared 3 funding templates for the MSMV UK program, and sent out 10 proposals.

Designed and led 5 workshops individually and as part of a team on various development topics in primary and secondary schools around London for groups ranging from 8 students to as many as 60. Collaborated with 3 other workshop leaders to create a database of educational material for future use.

Participated in various activities undertaken by the Community Service Office and volunteered as a mentor in a local elementary school.
