My personal experience, of looking after my disabled brother, has given me an extensive understanding of the importance of supporting individuals with their Health Care Plans (HCP) whilst ensuring their dignity, well-being, and independence. Therefore, I found it very rewarding to undertake a support worker role as well as SEN Teacher; particularly when I observe positive changes and behaviours that may be reflected in my commitments and efforts that I have made to support the service user or the individual. I also have experience in implementing special learning strategies for individuals with behavioural difficulties by finding the right strategy, for them to calm down and engage in learning. This role has also helped me to recognise that some children come from difficult personal environments that can cause them to struggle with their emotional, physical and educational well-being.
