* Developing and directing the firm’s overall IT strategy.* Working with senior management and department managers to recommend, develop and implement appropriate IT solutions.* Providing vision and leadership in all aspects of IT management and operations.* Establishing technology standards and acting as an advocate for best practices.* Explaining the benefits and drawbacks of various technology solutions to senior management and the organization as a whole.* Managing the implementation of technology solutions and monitoring their effectiveness at meeting Back in Motion’s business needs.* Managing the tactical and overall operations of the IT department including systems operations, WAN/LAN architecture, hardware and software.* Working with the department’s senior IT team to plan and co-ordinate both short and long term systems strategy and implementation.* Acting as the interface between IT and non-technical business units in explaining IT strategy and implementation plans.* Managing, and participating in, all aspects of the software development process.* Guiding the delivery of hardware and networking support services.
