My role is intended to support the development of an appropriate and cost effective digital capability in Africa. I indirectly lead multiple teams across the region, defining and accounting for implementing Zutari's digital strategy. I have had the privilege of serving the Cape Town branch of the organisation as Vice Chairman and then Chairman, as well as National Councillor in 2013. My responsibilities at Illovo Sugar included the installation, commissioning and maintenance of PLC, DCS and SACAD systems as well as various plant instrumentation systems. During this time I was also involved in project design and development and was responsible for the installation and commissioning of the PLC (Siemens S5) control system specifically for the front end control of the factory.
