Selvei believes that all children deserve a high-quality education, one that not only benefits the individual but also strengthens the community. Her lifelong mission is to sculpt young minds into respectful, caring citizens and empathetic leaders, leaving an indelible imprint on society.This aspiration was fostered by her father, who instilled in her a sense of social responsibility and the values of leaders such as Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Theodore Roosevelt. Their teachings formed the basis of her belief system and, consequently, her professional journey.Following her father's footsteps, Selvei ventured into engineering, completed an MBA, and became a management consultant specializing in strategic planning and implementing financial and business intelligence systems. Yet, a letter she received from Mother Teresa during her formative years always echoed in her memory, reminding her of the transformative power of education.Heeding this call, with the support of her family and husband, she researched to start a STEM school in Naperville in 2010. During the research, she came across the fact that 90% of brain development occurs in the first 5 years, which led her to start KLA Schools in Plainfield, a Reggio Emilia inspired franchise in 2013, the Naperville campus in 2019, and Naperville West campus in 2022.In 2018, Selvei and her son Asuttosh Rajkumar founded the M.P. Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to championing the cause of quality education. The organization empowers children by educating parents, teachers, and school leaders about the importance of education, one that prioritizes emotional intelligence and fosters core values.Continuing to innovate in the education sector, Selvei has been working with the University of Chicago STEM Education for over a decade, founded Orion STEM Schools, and is committed to enabling students to find their voice, passion, and purpose by honing their skills, respecting their inquisitive minds, and translating their thoughts into authentic ideas that can make an impact. The STEM and Entrepreneurship-centric curriculum at Orion aligns perfectly with her belief in a well-rounded education that not only promotes academic intelligence but also equips students with critical thinking, creativity, and innovation skills, nurturing them to shape the future.Throughout her career, Selvei has been a strong advocate for high-quality education, tirelessly working to continuously evolve as education gets redefined by connecting to the global innovation economy.
