I’m an Executive Design Advisor, which is a fancy way of saying I’m available for facilitation, management consulting or as a fractional leader in product and design. I enjoy converting conceptual possibilities into practical opportunities where business, the customer, and technology collide.After 25 years of building successful software products and teams, I work with B2C clients to design and execute innovative digital product and customer experience strategies to deliver sustainable financial impact. Let me give you three concrete examples that ignited me personally and professionally:➡️ Served as the principal strategist, interaction designer, and creative director of the first two+ years of the Starbucks for iPhone app. From launch through integration of mobile payments and beyond, I worked as the agency lead with our Starbucks client to shape the first generation of mobile experiences for big brands, with a focus on enabling a better retail experience.➡️ Led the global, mobile user experience team at Walmart at a time when retailers were trying to understand multi-channel commerce. Through the eyes of the customer, we were able to launch several waves of mobile-enhanced in-store innovations that shaped the way we all shop today.➡️ Created a framework for clients with multi-sided marketplaces to envision the next evolution of their business. We would build a long-term roadmap based on aligning the user journey of each side of the marketplace and then prioritizing features based on the symmetry between each audience's needs. Clients included Care.com.A designer by trade, my history spans everything from the pace and creativity of agency work with world-class brands, to the rigor and strategy of building and managing large in-house product teams.
