I started a place for people to come and practice zazen. The physical space is still there, but between Covid and then becoming the primary caregiver to my 90 year old mother when she fell ill, I haven’t been able to reopen yet. Someday, I hope.

The gallery was located at 3643 University Ave. in "The Harada Building" a registered California State Landmark. In 2001, Marian Semic, Glen Morris and Jake Kimbrell founded the "The People's Gallery" on the premise of providing a forum for artists to show their work. No hanging fees, no commission taken, absolutely free. I established the gallery as a 501 (c) 3 public charity under federal guidelines and was approved in 2005.

I left this company when I was informed that I was denied a position because I was female. (more than 90% of the people in the position I was applying for, in my region, were male.) The 2 women that held positions in the so cal district, did so because they had more tenure than the regional manager in question. He never hired a woman. One of his male subordinates was kind enough to tell me. I did not have the money at the time to take legal action. #discrimination #FedExOffice
